Ok. I scrubbed two HD's, I loaded Windows 7 Pro on one, and I did XP SP2 on the other. The audio drivers work fine with 7 Pro, but I can't get audio from the HD with XP. I have tried EVERYTHING from deleting and reinstalling, looking for the "hdaud" files and installing from there, you name...

It helps to read the specs of what you have...because the monitor you have maxs out at 1600 x 900. It can't go to 1680x1050 no matter what you try. The best you can do it get a screen that can accommodate your needs.

What are the specs on your pc?

Is this a Blu-Ray player on your pc? If so, how are you connecting? To the monitor or tv?

Run Chkdsk. You may simply have some bad sectors that need to be set right. See if that works. It's going to be pretty hard to correct without the XP disk.

Have you put anything new on your pc lately? Maybe it's a PSU issue. If not, it could simply be a driver issue. Try updating your cd-rom driver. If that doesn't fix it, let me know. It could be the cd-rom it's on the brink of eternal sleep.

When did you buy it? How old is this computer?

Have you tried doing a restore point? Just roll back to when the pc was working ok. If that doesn't work, she may need someone to grab her HD files and scrub the HD for a fresh reinstall. You can also try to Google your issue. ntldr issues generally are bootloading issues. If she knew her...
