Thanks for all your replies, most appreciated. I have just had some expensive Cat 8 (40Gbps) cables delivered by Amazon, I plugged one in and straight away 2500 link speed. So hopefully after getting rid of old drivers and then new cables has done it. Thanks

I have now disabled the onboard Realtek NIC, The deleted all drivers via device manager including all the hidden enties and then installed the Realtek driver 1125.22.1118.2024 from the downloaded driver pack Install_PCIE_Win11_11022_03202025 Rebooted and still getting 1000 link speed.
