It is an x99s gaming 7 mobo The wireless card is in the 2nd pci slot. But the gpu still runs at x4 even without the wireless card inserted

Hi i have an i7 5820k on an msi gaming 7 motherboard My gtx 1080 is meant to run at pcie x16 however it only runs at x4 I have a wifi card also attached via pci. Any ideas why its only running at x4

Shame really . really holds the card back in terms of overclocking which is a big letdown for me really as i bought 2 of these things. will see if i can send them back and swap them for 2 others

the fan speed is at 100% and same thing is happening. gets to about 75c then stops climbing

it still downclocks even with the kboost on it downclocks no matter what you set the core to, always seems to downclock about 50 mhz which is pretty annoying

it goes up to 71c when running firestrike overclocked it sucks because the kingpin 980ti i have aswell doesnt seem to be affected by this problem

The psu seems to power up when I use the paper clip test . And all the mobo lights come on when it's plugged in etc Gunna try another power supply asap
