    HDD randomly disappearing.

This is the first time I've ever had trouble with a HDD (yeah, lucky me) so I'm not sure where to begin. I have a Windows 7 desktop with a SSD/HDD setup and for the past two days the HDD has been malfunctioning. For no apparent repeatable actions that I can detect the HDD will no longer be...

"Windows was unable to connect to" 5 GHZ

Okay, I moved the PC to the same room as the router, about 10 feet away, and it connected right to the 5 GHZ channel; it seems to be working fine and at speeds 10 Mbps faster than the 2.4 connection. Anyway, I'm now confident my hardware is working properly, but I'm left wondering this: Why...

"Windows was unable to connect to" 5 GHZ

I just installed a new router (WNDRMACv2) and cannot connect the 5 GHZ channel (TP-Link N900 PCIe card). All firmware/drivers are up to date. The 5 GHZ channel is detected, I can try to connect, enter the password, but then I get the message "Windows was unable to connect to...xxx." My...

HD 7950 Desktop Flickering, Need Some Feedback

Unfortunately I don't have another DVI monitor to test this on, but any chance it could be a conflict with the monitor? It is running at 60Hz. The day I finished this build I had it hooked up to a 50'' plasma through HDMI and didn't notice any flickering.

HD 7950 Desktop Flickering, Need Some Feedback

So I've got a Sapphire HD 7950 w/ Boost (all software is up to date, I've made no changes to any settings, Windows 7 64) and while on the desktop I'm getting some screen flickering. It happens very quickly and manifests as a screen "shake;" black lines shoot across the entire screen and distort...

New Build, Sapphire HD 7950, Flikering

Also, I'm running an older LCD display and found a few comments that the monitor can't keep up with the video card. However, it is rated at 5ms. And the card is running at 300 mhz (power saving I guess?) and I haven't overclocked or touched any settings.

New Build, Sapphire HD 7950, Flikering

I finished my build a few days ago (i5 4670k, Windows 7, HD 7950...) and everything seemed to be running well, then all of a sudden I get screen flickering while browsing web pages. It appears to be mainly when scrolling up and down on a page. I haven't had much time to try games, but...

Installed Old 32 Bit Driver/Utility, Not Listed in Control Panel

Disregard. I found the uninstall utility in the Programs list file folder.

Installed Old 32 Bit Driver/Utility, Not Listed in Control Panel

I just built a new PC and was planning on using an old wireless network adapter, however, I wasn't aware, after attempting to install its driver and utility software, that it wasn't compatible with Windows 7 or a 64 bit system. My networking issue is sorted, but when I went to remove this old...

    Negative Wireless Adapter Comments Abound!

It seems that wireless network cards have a lot of negative user comments--so much so that I would normally not purchase a product with that much negative feedback, yet they all have such negative feedback. Should these be taken with a grain of salt due to all the factors that play into wireless...

Old Network Adapter, No 64 Bit Support

So after spending about four hours trying to get an old wireless network adapter (Netgear WG121, circa 2004) to work on my just finished build I've come to the realization that there is simply no driver support allowing it to work on new 64 bit OSs. If anything I won't be purchasing another...

    Are MOBO Circuits Sealed/Insulated?

The mounting holes are surrounded by circuitry. Meaning that the back-plate legs are going to be on top of the circuit paths.

    Are MOBO Circuits Sealed/Insulated?

It occurred to me while installing the back-plate for my budget CPU cooler that there might be some metal contact with the back of the motherboard. There is some cheap tape on the back-plate, but it's not a perfect cutout and some of the metal is exposed around the edges. Obviously the solder...

New MOBO, Loose RAM Retention Clip

So I just took my new MOBO out of the box for a pre-build inspection and one of the retention clips on the 4th RAM slot is loose; it has play in it compared to the others and I can push it open with very minimal force. I purchased this from a local Micro Center so an exchange shouldn't be much...
