I have also used a USB audio adapter which I recently purchased. Using it allows the sound to work, but this time it does show both microphone and speakers are plugged it - but microphone won't detect any sound. https://i.imgur.com/yHGkmYL.png

I had this headset for like a year now, and just recently I started having problems with it. My microphone stopped working, however the sound still works, e.g. going on youtube and listening to music would be completely fine. As a result, I bought a new temporary headset in order to test it...
