Question Games crashing RTX 2080ti - GPU Z 'hot spot' Temperature high

Thanks for the input. Only strange thing is that the build has been untouched since 2019 and working as it should - so to me that kind of rules out the block being mounted incorrectly. The GPU is also mounted vertically to a bracket with an adaptor so there is no pressure on the PCI lanes - that...

Question Games crashing RTX 2080ti - GPU Z 'hot spot' Temperature high

Hey all, I've got a Seahawk 2080ti on an EK waterblock that I seem to be having issues with. The PC was built in 2019 and I have never had any issues until recently. Every time I play demanding games I inevitably end up crashing. Certain games like the the new MW2 will crash very quickly, and...

    Question Dying GPU? RTX 2080ti

Hey Tom's, Been dealing with an issue I suspect is a dying GPU. Thought I'd check here before replacing components. Specs are ; i9 9900K, Seahawk RTX 2080ti (on the same water loop). 16GB ram, Windows 10, 1000W PSU Symptoms; Games are constantly crashing after a reasonably short period of...

    [SOLVED] Upgrade options from 980ti?

Quick update. Ended up finding a steal on eBay - Asus Turbo 2080 ti new in box for $1200 - so the same price as what I would have paid for a 2080 S. I'm not a fan of blower cards, but at this price I had to bite. Lets hope those temps dont get too crazy.

    [SOLVED] Upgrade options from 980ti?

Reference numbers are there too. Very little difference between 2070s and 1080ti. Considering that the 1080ti will be 2 years + old for the same price as a new 2070s and no RTX (whether hype or not) - makes this a no-brainer imo, had the decision been only between these cards.

    [SOLVED] Upgrade options from 980ti?

The 2070S beats the 1080ti in most benchmarks at 1440p though? https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_rtx_2070_super_gaming_x_review,11.html

    [SOLVED] Upgrade options from 980ti?

Thanks Lord. I think I'm ruling out the 1080ti however. I never realised that the 2070s is so close in performance and obtainable brand new for the same price. Doubt the extra VRAM should be an issue any time soon as I dont plan on going 4k any time soon.

    [SOLVED] Upgrade options from 980ti?

Thanks for the reply cd, you've given me a bit to think about. In typical fashion I was only looking at the top end cards and didnt even notice the 2070 Super. Cant believe its better than 1080 ti in most tests and in some cases even the 2080. Looks like I can get away for about ~$850 on the...

    [SOLVED] Upgrade options from 980ti?

Hey guys, Got a first-world-problem decision I need some external advice on. I recently purchased a ROG Swift 1440p 165hz Gsync monitor and the 980ti is starting to show its age. Ive been looking at the 2080 ti for $1600 AUD, the 2080 Super at $1200 AUD, or a used 1080 ti for around $800 AUD...

How to completely remove Windows 10 from an old drive

Hi, I have recently acquired a new 240GB SSD for the purpose of running Windows 10. I installed the SSD and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10, thinking I'd be able to format the old drive after and use it for a storage drive. Problem is, Windows will not format this drive, even after I...

The GTX 1070 or the GTX 980Ti?

The 980ti will most certainly be the faster card. If you were comparing with a 1080 I'd say go for that but I wouldnt personally go for a 1070 over the 980ti.
