Cpu and fan only, fans spin up and shut off after 30 seconds, cpu and psu are not defective right?

Im just taking pieces of a pc i found and rebuilding it, just cpu a D psu does it shut off crom pc overheat?

So buy a newpsu ya think? Is the cppu fast?

I founf this for 10$ it has 2 seagate constellations , has a little gpu and looks like sound card, pentium d 965 3.4 ghz. Npt sure wat mobo 6 ram slots w 2 1gb sticks cm 550 psu.. mobo light comes on only, what could be dead? Only spe.t 10$ srry im on mobile also large antec case

My motherboard light comes on but my psu doesnt start up, what could it be?
