News US sanctions transform China into legacy chip production juggernaut — production jumped 40% in Q1 2024

Hardly a monopoly. There are TONS of fabs that produce legacy nodes. The ONLY way they can achieve monopoly is to be gov't subsidized as legacy chips eventually become more expensive to produce then new nodes due to mature die shrink. And if that happens, dumping taxes will be applied...

Review Logitech MX Brio Review: 4K, but not for content creators

That's not entirely true. The Sony Starvos sensor series is top of the line and used by kyro and link. The kyro's software was flakey and unstable. And it drew too much power causing the USB port to shutdown for that camera. And the link would automatically engage in face tracking when we...

Question Modern gamming on a lap top is simply not possible due to overheating, was this statement true or false?

It's really not an apples to apples comparison. The memory subsystem is set up differently. And if you try to use it for everyday task, it will run considerably slower due to memory latency.

Question Modern gamming on a lap top is simply not possible due to overheating, was this statement true or false?

This is true. Laptops are a lot more efficient than desktops. But laptops have to be more efficient because they have to remove a TREMENDOUS amount of heat in a much smaller package and preserve battery life. Even at 35W, you can burn your hand holding the heat sink if fans are off. Some...
