    the difference in wattage each card is minimal, its depends on the Amps comming off the 12V lines on your psu, could you list them and the make of your psu?

    well its al ow profile low power gtx, so no pci-e connectors, to get back into windows you would need to remove your card and plug your monitor back into the motherboard vga. As for the card make sure the "CRT" is plugged into the card snuggly, (crt is cathode ray tube, aka old big bulky...

    what brand gtx 650 do you have, and as for fans spinning, pci-e has power (through the 20+4 pin main mobo connector) so the fans would work anyway as long as thats plugged in.

    it depends, that PC is quite old, honestly if you tell him to (or you) can scrounge up 100 dollars, you can build a decent lga775 platform pc (and grab this gpu instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131496). Do you know what socket that p4 is?

    No, it all depends on the resolution you want to play at. Lower resolution increases performance as there is less work to do. So its a trade off (i mean it's not like getting a nice high resolution monitor will hurt the performance much). If you can buy the parts then grab a better monitor...

    you made sure you plugged the pci-e power connectors to you gpu right? depending which model you bought they can be tricky and hide out of view and you forget about it.

    Does your motherboard have onboard capabilities? Try removing your gpu and hooking your monitor up to it and see if it boots and you get an image, then we can go from there

    Have you gone through and made sure all the drivers are uptodate (as well as bios) and when you installed your gpu you removed all previous gpu drivers that were installed?
