I keep seeing all the same runaround answers to this problem, and had the same exact problem myself, and spent all day messing with it the dead USB3.0 ports on a new Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P (rev2.1) mobo. I finally typed that board info into a google search and added the words "driver download"...

On the back of my computer, the LAN cable socket has two indicator LED's that I would much rather be on the front of the computer case. How can I accomplish that? Is there some sort of 3'-4' extension cable that would have those LED's on the female end? Thanks

Thanks for all the answers. I guess my difficulty was in understanding why, if the info on their website is so old and incomplete, they tell you that you MUST check with their old and incomplete compatibility list. Makes no sense to me.

My speculative questions were based on the seemingly limited problem of the OEM key being slaved to the mobo, and that otherwise there wouldn't be a *problem*. I would think that whatever settings in the old copy of Win7Prox64 that I apply over the new, would be what I am going to have to do...

In other words, if the big problem is the old OEM key, and I have a new one, why would all the settings and such have to be redone?
