yeah, I meant two sets of 2X4G. So the memory I buy doesnt need to be labled as "Dual Channel" for my board to use it like that as long as I have the correct board/chipset. Whats the deal with RAM been labeled as dual or quad channel then? or been for chipset X79 o Z77? do all work with all then?

If I configure an LGA 2011 X79 MB with two 2x4GB of dual channel RAM (16GB total) would my board use them as quad channel RAM?
