    Is this a good build?

I guess I am blessed by having a micro center like 10min away from my house! :) The FX 6300 should do you good, but if you want some futureproofing, check out the Haswell i3 CPUs, as they will be compatible with the Devils Canyon and Broadwell Intel parts. I'm at work now, buy I'll post back...

Will my graphics card upgrade work?

PC Perspective did a test with the 750 Ti on off-the-shelf PC's, with PSU's ranging from 250w to 350w. The 750 Ti ran fine on all of them. Here's the story if you want to read: http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/Upgrade-Story-Can-GTX-750-Ti-Convert-OEMs-PCs-Gaming-PCs

    Can a 500 Watt PSU Power a r9 280x

Although the general consensus is 600W, this XFX 550W should do just fine, and it's like $27 after rebate and instant coupon. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207013

    600w psu upgrade?

OP: Yeah, that would be a great option, too. Missed that one, thanks Pondering. Its 550w/45A vs 600w/49A, so OP won't be losing out on much juice.

    600w psu upgrade?

I'm guessing you're referring to this Corsair PSU: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Builder-Series-Watt-CX600/dp/B0092ML0OC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401245485&sr=8-1&keywords=cx600 If that's the case, then I think this EVGA would be better quality, and it's ~15 cheaper after MIR...

    Is this a good build?

That Athlon would be a serious bottleneck. What would your budget be for a CPU/MOBO combo? There's not much you can do with your current mobo.

What CPU would be best for my rig?

On the keyboard respect, I have a Logitech G710+, and it's one of the best I've used for both gaming and typing. It has cherry MX-Brown switches, so I don't know if you prefer a different switch type, but regardless, I HIGHLY recommend the G710+.

Which CPU temp software to believe? (5800k)

Hey scout_03, The setting in SpeedFan does nothing. First of all, it reports all my fans at 0 RPM, and whether I set the speed at 0% or 100%, may fan still stays the same. Also, at the time I took that shot (Like 5min ago), my CPU was at about 25% load. I have Tuniq TX-2, but, like I said...

Which CPU temp software to believe? (5800k)

Thanks for the quick reply! I downloaded CoreTemp, and as shown in the screen below, only reports a temp of 0C. I guess that leaves AMD, because I have too many tabs open to reboot into UEFI. One more question, does "Thermal Margin" mean something different than temperature? (AMD Overdrive)
