[SOLVED] How much memory is needed for modern printing?

So I tried searching around for info on this, as it's something I never thought of before. I don't know if I just wasn't typing in the correct formatting to appease the google gods, but I didn't have much luck. Any thread I found was from circa 2000, and dealt with setting a printer up for an...

[SOLVED] Can a modern single core (with/without hyperthreading) handle recording 1080p gameplay

Thanks for the response. Raw performance wise would tell me no. Just given the jump from 720p 30 to 720p 60/1080p 30 sends my cpu from a 45-70% single core utilization to 100% with dropped frames. I searched up encoding benchmarks to see if I could find something that both cpu's for a...

[SOLVED] Can a modern single core (with/without hyperthreading) handle recording 1080p gameplay

Long story short: currently running i5 3470 (4c/4t) + gtx 970. Recording vr games with the 970 causes input lag (most things push it near 100% utilization already), and everything wants at least 4 cores. That being said, I tested my cpu and on one core I can record up to 720p 30fps 5mbs...

[SOLVED] Use system memory as dedicated gpu overhead?

Thanks again for all of the replies. I guess I'll just stick with breaking scenes into smaller chunks when doable.

    [SOLVED] Pc isnt working

Some random suggestions: Do you have all the power cables plugged into the gpu? (always best to go for the simplest solution) Have you tried another pci x16 slot. try only one storage device, and reinstall windows. Did you install windows from a usb device? Try another usb/verify the data...

[SOLVED] Use system memory as dedicated gpu overhead?

Thanks for the response. I checked into a few things based on that. Apparently blender added support in 2.8, although it seems to not operate all too well. The issue I keep running into seems to be common. Prior to "support" for the feature, you'd simply get an "out of vram" notification...

[SOLVED] Use system memory as dedicated gpu overhead?

To start off, I know ddr3/4 runs at a much lower speed than Gddr5. I know that this low speed would result in stutters while in-game. I'm more interested in rendering, or blender to be more specific. My current setup is an i5 3470 (painfully slow in renders), gtx 970 3.5gb vram, 2x2 + 2x4GB...

Trying to find a remote usb transmitter

So after searching some more, I got some results using "make wired peripheral wireless" and "bluetooth keyboard adapter". Both came back with at least a few solutions, though all ranged from $30-$60 per usb device. At that price, its not all that worth it. In the time since I posted the...

Trying to find a remote usb transmitter

So a few months ago I decided to pick up a steam link so I could plug in my 4 port GameCube to USB adapter and play old in games in HD when friends come over. I then found out that the steam link is unable to do so without virtualhere, which is a $12 software with 41% positive reviews on steam...

    Very confused about lga 775

So the friend decided he wanted to just stick with the e5700 for now, so the q9650 will have to wait. Overall the system is now pentium e5700, gtx 560 ti 1.25Gb (was supposed to be any of the 2Gb+ models), 4Gb ram, win 7, and most likely a 520 watt seasonic psu.

    Very confused about lga 775

Okay so it seems like a q9650 will work. All of the info I found on the system came from these sources, just in case anyone needs a future reference. http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/mb-dig43l-specs-eup/ http://skyline-eng.com/gateway-sx2803-motherboard-dtx-gma-x4500-mb-gbs01-001-dig43l-eup/...

    Very confused about lga 775

I finally managed to find a service manual, in which there were multiple configs. Some used pentium, others core 2 quads (including the q9650). The only motherboard options were southbridge ICH10, and northbridge g43 and g45. I'll dig further into the manual to figure what boards were...

    Very confused about lga 775

So I was given the task of setting up a friend with a very budget orientated build below $150 (The closer to $100 the better). He many plays fsx and train simulator, though he has some plans of playing some newer games (nothing extremely demanding). I figured this task wouldn't be too...

    Entire PC failure after reboot.

I know you said you didnt have a restore point, but did you check to see if you can roll back an update (pretty close to the same, but its worth a shot). My mom's laptop just recently updated, and basically bricked everything, even windows command prompt. All i did to fix it was to open file...
