So even if it has a 6-pin power plug, it doesn't need the extra power supply? I'm in the same situation as Zinyak, an HP pavilion (H8-1234) that doesn't have an extra 6-pin power supply cord, and it won't work. Just get the HP splash screen with the occasional beep.

I tried putting a GTX 1050 ti card in my HP (H8-1234) and it won't work (splash screen only with occasional beeps). According to HP, PCIe 3.0 will NOT work in this computer... period. Only 2.0. Are they right?

Never mind. No one could figure out how to keep that light from blinking and the base was too darn wobbly so we exchanged it for an Acer. No problems with it.

We have an LG 22ea53 monitor and the power light keeps blinking red when the computer shuts down. I've tried all the different Power saving settings, but to no avail. We have to press the power button each time we want to turn the monitor on and off instead of just starting with the computer...
