I had the same problem with a Samsung 840EVO 120GB drive. I updated the Z97-AR BIOS to the latest version and then I could see the SSD in both the Boot Priority and Boot Menu and hit F10 to save and exit. I've since had issues with it disappearing again from the Boot Priority list on system...
