Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB OC Edition Review

I might be picking nits here but is it so hard to click the button for verifying the PCI Express connection? I mean the GPU-Z screenshot shows the card at 8x and 1.1 PCIE. Just saying.

ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces New Strix Gaming Laptops

These are all just Clevo chassis. My Eluktronics Clevo clone is still kicking butt. i7-6700HQ, GTX980m 8GB, 40GB RAM, 4x 480GB SSD in RAID0. I'm surprised people don't just buy Clevo.

    Laptop Manufacturers Need To Listen

I've been in the industry in a repair capacity for nigh on 20 years. I built my first computer, a Heath Zenith 140, from a kit with IC chips and the first mistake everyone makes (Reversing the floppy cable). I've seen the first Compaq "portables" through the PoquetPC, to the Alienware beastly...

System Builder Marathon Q1 2016: $662 Budget PC

I have two 860Ks and overclock the hell out of them with a 120mm water coolers I found for $60 on Amazon. All cores run at 4.3GHz without a hiccup and paired with GTX970s play any game so far at high to ultra resolution on 1440p. <<mod edit>>. Not to mention I can't stand Windows 10 which...

Acer's Chromebook 14 Extends Features And Battery Life To 14 Hours

As an IT for education, the Chromebooks are exceedingly perfect for our purposes. Under $200, manageable from one admin account...and I mean ALL of them. We have more than 1000 Chromebooks, and all of them can be configured from the management console. They just work. No ipads...no Windows...

System Builder Marathon Q1 2016: $1275 Professional Workstation

I think this build was a little doomed to begin with. Very nice small set of parts though and I like the use of a workstation graphics card. Most times when I come across a laptop with a workstation card in it in a refurb sale I'd choose it over one with a lesser regular gaming graphics card...

The Tenda F3 Aims For The Sub-$50 Router Market

My mother was one of those people of her generation that couldn't set the time on her VCR. I've finally convinced her to get basic internet and this wifi router is perfect for her demographic. It's all she needs. It's simple. I can buy it new instead of a Craigslist iffy deal.

    ASRock H97 Anniversary Motherboard Review

Why does the link for the board show up on NewEgg as the smaller micro-atx anniversary board?

Dell Inspiron 15 7559 $800 Gaming Laptop First Look

So I read the review of this laptop from Linus Tech Tips on YouTube, and the thing that might be an issue here for these benchmarks is the single 8GB SODIMM that comes with it. That would put it in single-channel mode which sucks. If you were to slap in another 8GB chip I'm sure the scores...

Deepcool Gamer Storm Assassin II Review

The 3 pound thing doesn't matter when you mount the motherboard horizontally. This thing fits fine in my Sentey ss6-240 case. I can overclock the AMD Athlon 2 x4 860k to 4.2GHz without hiccups.

System Builder Marathon Q3 2015: Value Comparison

I say give all three builders $950 next time. Yup. And ditch the optical requirement.

Intel B150 Motherboard Price List (Archive)

"In addition, the PCI-E connectivity in B150 is still based on the older PCI-E 2.0 standard, and the system can handle only two RAM modules, compared to four on all other chipsets in this generation." So right off the bat I'm confused. The ASRock B150 Pro4s supports four DDR4 modules for a...

System Builder Marathon Q3 2015: AMD Mini PC

I am extremely proud of this build as I built almost the exact same system but with a micro-ATX motherboard and a GTX 960 for my daughter. The 860k, when coupled with a higher level cooling solution will fly. I have always been an AMD fan, and I love the FM2+ format. My HTPC is a FM2+ APU...

Which of these laptops is the best for gaming?

I've just recently gotten to play with a Lenovo E545 with the A10-5750 chip (A skosh faster than the 5745 but negligible) in it and the built-in video. I have to say, for the price point, the A10 is good enough for Fallout: NV, Skyrim, and turn-based games. For the high profile FPS games it...
