My motherboard speaker is making knocking sounds. I tried one stick of ram at a time, neither worked. some times it boots to bios, most times it does not. The cpu gets very hot. I have a fan. it is working. I got new thermal paste, and applied it, and it still gets hot, and does not power...

I have a Dell 15R laptop with 3 usb ports. all 3 of them are loose when I plug in a usb device, and won't charge/connect devices. is there anything that can fix this?

i can't get into the bios. i fixed the mouse. had more than one connected. will have to try to get a ps2.

i can't. the keyboard nor th mouse work. tried inserting the windows xp cd. can't boot from that since the first boot device is the hd.

i tried a wired mouse and keyboard, and neither work. the keyboard will blink off and on (num lock, etc.) i tried the keyboard on another computer, and it worked. 99% sure the mouse works too.

I was installing updates with windows update and also installing a usb wireless adapter driver. the mouse stopped working, so i forced restart it, and now i can't use the mouse or keyboard. not even sure how to boot from the cd drive to install xp again... any ideas what to do?
