I tried to do it, but it just gives me the blue screen with error "BAD_POOL_CALLER"

I just installed a new CPU, and to do that, I needed to update my BIOS. After my CPU was installed, I booted into Windows, but now I have no sound. When I hover over the sound icon, it says "No speakers or headphones are plugged in." But I indeed, have my headset plugged in.

Alright so I updated the BIOS, and now the new CPU is working. But now I have no sound even when my headset is plugged in. When I hover over the sound icon, it says that "no speakers or headphones are plugged in." I did look to see in the BIOS if onboard audio was on.

Old CPU: AMD A4-4000 New CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860k Mobo: Gigabyte AMD FM2+/FM2 A88X Dual-Link DVI D-Sub Triple Monitor ATX Motherboard GA-F2A88X-D3H

**EDIT I put in the old CPU and it went into the BIOS. The BIOS was reset.

I just put in a new CPU and cooler without doing anything to the BIOS prior, and now my PC doesn't make a beep sound, it turns on, fires up all fans for about ten seconds, then reboots. I tried to take out the CMOS battery and put it back in, but it still didn't work.

Ok, so I think I'll save up and get a Z97 and an i5 4690K, thanks for both of your opinions!
