    The unit is a W520 that is about 4.5 years old, however tech support came thru here last June or so and gutted it and replaced everything but the keyboard and disk drive and screen. They said they couldn't be sure from their test results what might be affected, so... lucky me.

    right, the problem is that was a few years back and someone else set it up at the time. no longer have access to that person. I have some many notes, coeds and ping addresses that I do not know what constitutes a password. and wondered if it exists as a page or note in a hardware list somewhere...

    I have a home network, my computer is on direct Ethernet connect, my wife in another room is on wifi and it is asking her for the network server password for her to connect to the data server. How do I locate the password using my machine which is connected?
