What would be advantages of say an Asus x99-a or Saber tooth over this gigabyte board?

I've read that in more than one place, but opted for the gigabyte solely on the dollar aspect, as I said I'm not going for insane overclocking specs just wanna learn how more so than anything. Aread you saying that those other boards are better for overclocking or that it is easier to do so on...

After doing a lot of research and YouTube watching, I think I've settled on a x99 based build for my new pc. A little run through of what I'm using it for... I like to game and would be leaving the Xbox one behind, I was never upset with the graphics on xbox, but the frames bothered me alot...

I would say pretty even between gaming and editing, maybe a little more time editing. Does the gpu performance have any influence of rendering performance or editing or does that job fall solely to the cpu? Also why use such a high end mobo?
