total newb here, but did manage to oc the 31 with an e5200 no problems.
Did some searching and found someone who had a setup similar to yours.

good luck
Would be nice if win7 would allow it but you're probably right about the upgrade vs. retail.
I'll be doing this on a single drive also.
Just curious, which version of ubuntu are you using? 8 still seems like the most stable from what I've read.
Finished my E5200 OC build (just idling for the moment, drive unformatted).
I'm just wondering if the following quad boot is possible:
1. I have XP pro 32bit I will install this in its own partition.
2. I Pre-Ordered Win7 upgrade from XP pro - Can I install the 32 and 64 bit versions in two...
To: shortstuff_mt and zipzoomflyhig,
My total for the build with shipping came to $510.98 with better parts thanks to both of you (and I'm left with my old rig as a backup). Sweet deal!
Thanks again
You're right.
I only looked at the specs, not the pictures. I just assumed the other plug they had in the spec was for the fan.
Found this too while checking out the 4850 again.

Never bought recertified before but it's tempting
oops, can't do the case deal.
I forgot about the xfx 4850, it needs another pcie 6 pin plug. That's why I had to go with the earthwatts supply. I could go with another 4850 or lesser card but xfx has a good warranty and I like the rear heat exhaust on the card.
Current System
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
ServicePack 3.0 32 bit
Pentium 4 2.80GHz
Mboard - SOYO 845PE/GE
2gigs RAM
Thinking of this as a cheap upgrade (using old Antec Case)
Note: I would like to try overclocking the 5200
Note2: I chose the 4850 but could go lower if needed...
