The MHZ are better in this case because the RipJaws are pretty good for over clocking, so you can expect it to go over 3000mhz with some tweaking, but if it's =\= Mhz, I think you can just make the decision based on your GPU if you have anything under 1070 - 1070 and under gain very marginal...
