I want the best gaming laptop I can get for around $1000

Go for the 860M maxwell gpu. I would say the Sager NP7378 would be a good option. Its just at the 1000 mark. The laptop is a bit thick... around 1.75-2". If you want a thinner laptop with those specs another option would be the MSI GE60/GE70 Apache Pro. Its about 1 1/4 inch thick but it starts...

Looking For New Gaming Laptop Around $1000

Also to add.. there is also the MSI Apache GE60.. I decided to pass on that model since its 1 1/4 thick while the other 2 are under an inch thick. But that being said, i think the MSI GE60 would be the least expensive out of the 3. If thickness isnt something your really shooting for that would...

Looking For New Gaming Laptop Around $1000

I am personally waiting for either the Gigabyte P34 V2 or Lenovo Y50 to be released. They both have the 860m maxwell GPU. I would pass on the Y510P being SLI is just terrible for battery life and not all games are optimized for SLI configurations.

    Help Me Please

I agree that your i3 would bottleneck your card... but... I know you would like the 780 card but your psu would need to be upgraded aswell. If your looking to just do "enough"... I'll go for the GTX 770. Im running it on my setup with an i7-4770k with a 450w power supply with no issues at all...

    Upgrading the Graphics card/Power supply

Just to add... Im running a GTX 770 OC card on a 450W - Gold rated power supply. I would imagine the 760 is lower in power specs and dont need that powerful of a psu. If your going for a bronze spec... a 500-550w as recommend will be fine.

    Asus HD 7870

I have 2 different 7870 cards. Gigabyte 7870 Ghz (Stock OC) and SapphireTech 7870 (Stock OC). Yes, i got the manufactor oc edition but neither cards overclock beyond that well or even at all. Even the stock oc isnt much at all over reference specs. Its just the line of the 7870. I have a 7850...

Do you still have the old 4830? If you put that back in does it load? Possible you could have ESD the mobo..

hmm... you might have to look into power requirements. possible the 5770 draw might bring it over the top. Also, you shouldnt plug into the onboard video. Plug the video directly into the card since it'll take priority over the onboard.

    R9 290 non reference

The Gigabyte is a good board... if thats the brand you like go for it. But i got the MSI Z87I and its a board it'll recommend. Here is a breakdown/benchmarks for 26 different Z87 boards...

    Best card for my system.

I agree that the 550w for that system is quite overkill. Also, with how current games goes.. i believe youd be disappointed with the 7750/7770... go for the 7790. Its very efficient/powerful card. For the small increase in price there is a big jump on fps boost.

    Will This Bottleneck?

the 7770 is a low end card and is quite efficient. I dont believe you would run into much of a bottleneck ... if any.

Better Performance With OLD Drivers and NO Crossfire

well, when amd are working on their drivers.. their focus is on whats on the market now. They are optimizing the newer cards. It shouldnt break their older video cards.. but tuning them isnt the priority. So its possible some changes they make to optimize newer cards can lower older cards...

    amdA10-6800K + GTX 760

I am interested in how the 780ti is gonna end up aswell.. but that being said. With the new R9 290 being at $400 with the benches that its done... i dont think the jump to the $699 780ti would be enough gain on the FPS to grant that money. Im sure it'll be the "fastest" card out.. but the $$$...
