i see what your going for. you want to try to make it a 4 core for gaming. im pretty sure the architecture wouldnt allow that for one. you probably should have just gotten a 4100 which is the quad core. so in short, based one what i know about the amd fx series...no, you cant disable...

its not the temp, or overclock. thought i was pretty clear on that. ended up being a game issue, they came out with a patch for BF3 that adds more stability with BF3. got my overclock even higher and game runs butter smooth now.

make sure your updating your motherboard drivers, Direct X, make sure you have the correct power pins installed, make sure they are seated correctly.

you really need to do your research. your mobo will tell you what socket it has, which will tell you what CPU will fit or vise versa. doesnt make a difference what the pins feel like. your NOT supposed to touch them at all due to the oil on your fingers and hand.

i would try to get more ram. 2 gb will slow you down. look into the HAF series of cases. new egg has some good performing fans for not much at all.

lets start with this.. we need more info on the motherboard. asus? EVGA? then once you know that, you may want to call them and find out what the noise is

check out the Asus p8z68, P8z67.. good boards as well.. you need to do a little research, youtube, google, newegg.. takes a little time to perfect your build.

depends on your needs. usb 2.0 is good enough for me. a couple of usb 3.0 should be fine.
