hi. does anybody know the correct technical names of the following fan connectors? like the 2 pin ones, 3 pin ones and the newest 4 pin ones (not the molex connector but the fan connectors on the motherboard) friends are calling them molex 2 pin, molex 3 pins but what would you call the...

E6850 or Q6600 for the same price?

sorry didn't read those posts, will do that later when i get some spare time. but i think there's some misunderstanding, you took my statement in a different context than intended. i was talking about the pre-multicore era, when smp only existed on platforms with more than 2 processors. and i...

E6850 or Q6600 for the same price?

nice post, stirred up quite a debate amongst us. I'm sorry, but all of you quad core people are delusional, and let me tell you why. first and foremost, i don't care what people tell you, the truth is, c2d owns quads in MOST games. next, who can remember parallel processing and smp? how they...

Overclocked E6600 & P5W DH Deluxe with Incredible Results

no, he said it failed at 400mhz, so supposely he went back to 9*356=3.2ghz. how he got to 4.0ghz wif a e6600 at 400mhz fsb, is anyone's guess. 3.2 is by no means "incredible". shoulda try something between 356-400. 42c load would give you plenty of headroom to push for more.

    Toms hardware makes a mistake?

Thank you. If you were to critique tg's articles, please know what you are talking about. people will not treat you nicely when you go out on a limb and criticize others' work while you lack a thorough understanding of the intricate subjects that are involved. You sounded like a clubbag and...

Help please (poor guy needs gaming rig)

yeah...if my budget constraint absolutely cannot run over 5 bills, this is what i would do: buy a plain dell box with amd 3600+ whatever processor for 220 dollars. throw away the graphics card that comes with it and buy a better one. this was from yesterday: Dell Dimension C521 AMD Athlon 64 X2...

    Switched cases...PC won't turn on?

I can't remember how many times i've had the same problem. damn brass standoffs short my mobo out so often that nowadays i use only 3 brass standoffs to keep the mobo in place, and for the rest i use nylon and plastic ones. unfortunately, nylon/plastic standoffs arn't threaded, they are only...
