Can you give an indication the performance gain of Mantle? Will it be purely in FPS or will it be visual...i.e. better graphics, more eye candy, improvements to tress-fx. Is it used in conjunction with D3D or by itself?

Go for the 7850 xfire...you could always quadfire too...and those with xfire don't have major issues. There are peeps on this thread running 7850 xfire just fine. no stutter reported. Stop repeating stuff you read and actually experience something...

the OP has most likely made a decision by now, but since this thread isn't closed, I'd thought I'd post my opinion for future readers. There are plenty of people who have Xfired 7850s that have seen no issue with Microstutter. Microstutter is NOT a given when someone crossfires their cards...
