    [SOLVED] GPU crashing games

First, check if a CMOS reset doesn't help. Sometimes the motherboard just remembers the wrong card is installed. I doubt it's a fake card if it looks like the equivalent google search of a sapphire nitro+ rx 580 8gb , since fake cards usually use different coolers that fit the PCBs they go on...

Question PC BSoD's, then unable to boot

Since the original beeps said the RAM was at fault, if you haven't already, I'd recommend checking each stick individually in the system, in each slot, to see if there's a dead stick or slot. If you only have one stick, see if you can borrow or buy a compatible stick that works for testing...

[SOLVED] 980 Ti causing PSU fuse to pop.

To my surprise, MSI agreed to fix it. They replaced it with a 1070ti (iirc). Thanks. Also, sorry for the late update. I had forgotten about this thread :P

[SOLVED] Is Socket 771 System Still A Capable Modded Minecraft Server

How much power are we talking about? If it's equivalent to what my main rig is now (4770k, AIO, MSI r9 390x) then I'm fine with it. Although the most reasonable processor I can get is a couple of E5450s, since the higher models seem to be sold out or way too expensive (Also, do those processors...

[SOLVED] Is Socket 771 System Still A Capable Modded Minecraft Server

Essentially, there's an ad for a $10 server; has everything but the ram and second CPU. Even if I have to buy them myself, that's $30ish more. RAM I can get for dirt cheap. I also want to set up a small test database for homework and stuff as well. Is it worth even bothering with this?

    [SOLVED] im changing components

You'll probably want check if you'll need a new case. The motherboard in the Dell PCs tend to be proprietary, and will not accept a standardized format like ATX (I'm assuming it looks like this (pages 12 and 13). The PSU should also be checked to make sure it has enough power and isn't connected...

    [SOLVED] CPU Upgrade

Achaios is right about the voltage: anything higher than 1.45 is prone to kill your CPU; 1.9 is nearly guaranteed dead as of 0.3 volts ago. However, it's working... furthermore, the temps are stable and fine. This leads me to believe that either the voltage measurement is wrong, or the core heat...

    New Community Trophy Contest

Well, I stopped at 50 because I wasn't sure what a good number was. I assumed it would be difficult to get 50 best answers on such a wide range of subjects that can be so different in nature. But you've seen the community more than I have, so 100 may be a more appropriate bar to set. But I...

    [SOLVED] CPU Upgrade

Well, that number refers to the fastest frequency at which the CPU and RAM are supposed to work at. So that's a good sign, and something like a Core 2 Duo E8500 or E6800 should be doable in theory. The model number should be a combination of numbers and letters, possibly close to a sticker with...

Question 2tb drive says only 460gb available after a format...

Well, if everything is grayed out, there are two things I can think of: Use the Windows Install media (disk or USB) and get to the part where you select where you want to install Windows. Once at the part where you select where you want to install Windows, you should be able to choose your 2TB...

Question 2tb drive says only 460gb available after a format...

In Disk 3, you have two large partitions: one is Blade (the 460GB that was read) and another 1386GB that's unallocated (which Windows wont read outside of Disk Management). If you want a single large partition then you'll need to delete the Blade partition, which should give you a total...

Question 2tb drive says only 460gb available after a format...

That sounds like either the drive is dying, or perhaps there's a partition that's 460GB large. Did you delete all the partitions when reformatting the hard drive? Or did some weird thing happen and Macrum Reflect partition the hard drive for whatever reason (assuming there was only one partition...

    [SOLVED] CPU Upgrade

That's a vague question that's hard to gauge since I don't know the model number of the motherboard. But, with some quick research, I have found this. At the bottom of the page is a graph with a performance comparison. The chart above it gives an upgradability chance, but that isn't a guarantee...
