Installed my new motherboard last night, booted the pc and windows just loaded as normal, didn't have to activate or anything! Looks like it was down to me linking it with my Microsoft account first but thanks for the help everyone x

Hey Bhamaboy, just reading this thread now 5 years later lol But basically I decided to do the same as you and replace my motherboard with an afterrmarket one. Im having an issue with the front panel connector though where my new mobo doesn't have the same pin layout as the pins on the XPS...

Surely I don't have to do that I just need the power button to work to be honest and maybe the power button LED

So I just installed a new gigabyte motherboard in my Dell XPS 8300 pc case and have connected everything fine apart from the old front panel connector to the new front panel pins, the layout is completely different. As a result I cant use the power button to turn my pc on. Any ideas ? Pics...

initailly it was windows 7 OEM with the Dell system, but was then upgraded to windows 10 when it was released and rolled out for free to windows owners. Does this mean my windows 10 is non OEM??

Basically when I download files off the internet, my DL speed always hovers around 500kb/s (very slow) whilst in speedtest.net apparently my broadband DL speed is at least 2.78 Mb/s. Is this normal?
