News Micron and SK hynix unveil LPDDR5X SOCAMM up to 128GB for AI servers

I was(and still am) a hardware enthusiast long before I landed this dream job. I'm not slumming it with you guys, you guys are what makes my job worthwhile. We need more passion for tech in general :)

News Micron and SK hynix unveil LPDDR5X SOCAMM up to 128GB for AI servers

I'm a senior principle engineer/architect at a Tier 1 server hardware OEM, i see stuff literally years before it's made public. Can't go into specifics obviously due to NDA, but do you really think that GB300 and the associated technologies surrounding it came into existence in the last few months?

News Micron and SK hynix unveil LPDDR5X SOCAMM up to 128GB for AI servers

I couldn't find a picture of SOCAMM. CAMM, CAMM2 and SOCAMM all use similar connectivity. Been seeing all of the above in the datacenter for a while now

News Nvidia Blackwell RTX Pro with up to 96GB of VRAM — even more demand for the limited supply of GPUs

Bro. Not every single desktop and laptop is consumer grade. I'm typing to you right now from a "desktop" that is a workstation and have a laptop workstation 5 feet away. Know what the difference is? ECC memory and professional tier graphic cards and all the software benefits that brings from...

News Nvidia unveils DGX Station workstation PCs with GB300 Blackwell Ultra inside

Been working this on the datacenter side with servers with a combination of SXM and PCIe stand up GPUs and on the server side, it's been zero issue. I can't tell you how many tens of thousands of PCIe GPUs i've sent out the door for my customer and not a single failure of a 12v connector so far...

News Nvidia Blackwell RTX Pro with up to 96GB of VRAM — even more demand for the limited supply of GPUs

It'll be 5% faster until you fill the 5090s VRAM, then the RTX Pro will smoke it. We're not talking gaming here sir, we're talking massive models that even 32gb of VRAM is insufficient.

News For the first time, ever AMD outsells Intel in the datacenter space

You're conflating NEW PURCHASES, with TOTAL MARKET SHARE. Datacenter servers have a 3-7 year duty cycle depending on the vendor and customer. Intel has a higher total volume of servers out there But AMD is selling more than Intel in the server space right now. If that trend continues, once a...

News Jensen Huang is now worth more than Intel — personal net worth currently valued at $109B vs. Intel's $96B market cap

Even without the painfully obvious fanboyism of your user icon, you're so wrong it's laughable. Tell me you know absolutely nothing about datacenter and enterprise IT without telling me you know absolutely nothing. Their purchase of Mellanox made them a leading player in both...

News Custom CableMod 16-Pin Power Adapter Melts on RTX 4090

PCIe SIG has already changed the adapter / cable spec so that if it's not 100% mated, it will throw an error and not power the card. PCI-SIG is revising the connector "The currently planned changes will only affect the four Sense Pins, but they are quite a real solution. Due to the shortening...

News VMware Caps Per-CPU Fees at 32 Cores, AMD's EPYC Rome Impacted

You're smoking crack if you think Optane is the end-all be-all solution to large memory spaces. Vendor support has been slow and performance is lower than traditional DIMMS. Pretty much all of my customers have reviewed it and only 1 has bit on it.
