    ASUS G750JX or MSI GT70 2OC

Everything that I have read shows that the MSI runs pretty hot. The asus is supposed to have the best cooling solution for high end components within laptops.

    gaming monitor choose fast.

I am not sure I would go for a 120hz monitor unless he has the cpu/gpu power to drive that......unless he is playing old games not many gpu's can drive modern games at high settings and 120hz

Recommend fast and portable 14"-15.6" multimedia laptop

Hi There, I am in a similar market as you and I can share my experiences. So far I have not been able to find anything better than the Q550LF (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+15.6%26%2334%3B+Touch-Screen+Laptop+-+8GB+Memory+-+1TB+Hard+Drive+-+Black/8937158.p?id=1218954926513&skuId=8937158)...

need help: bang for the buck 14" gaming laptops

Well for actual specs I believe MSI has the highest specs/performance for the price with the GE-40 variant that has a 675m 128gb ssd + 750gb 7200rpm hd clocking in around 1,300 bucks. The availability of the SSD and a HD is what makes me choose this one. I have been looking in the same range...

    Light gaming laptop help please

Any laptop with a 5400 rpm is basically guaranteed to not run d3 well at all. Due to the way the game loads levels(on demand instead of when you move into a new area) it requires a fairly low latency drive and the majority of 5400 drives and some 7200 drives cannot live up to that expectation...

Yet another first build. Pictures inside. I have no idea what I'm doing.

I second this, the Antec cases aren't terrible but the lack of cable management really limits them. For 80 bucks to also get Zalman Z9 Plus, another sweet case

    Is 2GB of VRAM excessive?

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crysis-2-directx-11-performance,2983.html edit: Also I can speak from experience, I run 2 EVGA 560 ti's in SLI and I get near 60 fps with all settings but when I turn on the high res pack I get random crashes (black screen with music still playing). With all...

    Is 2GB of VRAM excessive?

Some games are slowly creeping into the realm of being difficult for 1 gb. Crysis 2 with the new DX11 combined with High Res Texture package really strains most 1gb cards at stock settings. But in general for single displays you will be fine with 1gb.....for now!

For PSU go with Corsair, I use a HX750 to run my SLI set-up and it works great. XFX also makes a nice PSU, Seasonic too

Gigabyte GTX 560 ti SOC problem

Hi Rob, Did you uninstall your old drivers before installing your new ones? Sometimes Nvidia can be a bit quirky if you install drivers for a different video card over old drivers. I had issues in one game and the below steps fixed it 1) Uninstall your video adapter. 2) Reboot and let...

    Screen Tearing GTX 560 Ti

Yeah, sounds like v-sync is off. You have plenty of horsepower to run wow smoothly, but remember no matter the computer you have, when you get in areas with lots of people/spells effects (IE: lots of data to process) you will have lower frame rates. It is inevitable with WoW.

My horrible experience with Newegg and Asus.

Hi All, Just an update, New Egg contacted me via Tom's forums and helped me resolve my issue by finding a middle road of giving me a store credit instead of a full refund. New Egg is awesome! Thanks!
