[SOLVED] Is pairing a 3rd gen i5 with an rtx3060 a bad idea?

Yeah, i just recently upgraded from a pentium g860 to an i5, made a huge differnece. Last gen Ryzens have gotten cheap so maybe buying that now is smarter, and leave the graphics card for next year.

Ryzen 5 3600s are pretty cheap now, I could pair that with a B550 motherboard and some G.skill ddr4 ram right? and that would cost me almost the same price

[SOLVED] Is pairing a 3rd gen i5 with an rtx3060 a bad idea?

Yeah, just the sound of 1050 is annoying me thats why I was just even wanting a new GPU, ordered a 1650 Super, but they cancelled it on me so was looking at more options. I would be over paying for the 3060, but who knows if it will get any cheaper in the next months, or year. Also is 400 euro...

Agreed. Cpu upgrade is definetely needed, maybe would even be better to buy a new cpu and motherboard, and ram then a graphics card.

[SOLVED] Is pairing a 3rd gen i5 with an rtx3060 a bad idea?

So I have had the idea to pair a 3rd gen i5(i5-3340) with a rtx 3060. ignoring the pirce of a rtx 3060, will this be a huge waste of performace? Or would an gtx 1660 be better? Also would be grate if the graphics card would remain good for the next 5 years, so thats why Im leaning toward the rtx...
