Intel is not moving Arrow lake to 18A. 18A wont ramp until late 2025. Intel chose TSMC over 20A. 20A and 18A capacity are the same tool set. Wait till you see what arrow lake refresh looks like in 2025. Hint its not 18A either LOL the problem is that 20A isnt s good as N3..... Its not as good...

So you haven't seen the info showing that Intel moved most SKUs to TSMC N3? Check the teardowns on samples or just ask Intel. It might be important to you. its also big part of Intels restructuring

So simpler questions: Is this for the TSMC version or Intel version of the CPU process. certainly 20A with backside power and GAA must be different than TSMC N3 for power?

Its not coming to desktop computers that people actually buy. It is coming to niche products that may sell 1000s of units. But we have 14th gen processors (raptor lake refresh, socket 1700) so that pretty much the same. I actually felt bad for Intel people. Everyone in the press got so excited...

Meteor lake is low volume, there is a part still ramping (RL) before it and Intel has promised a part after it end of 2024. It is also very expensive. I think future roadmaps and the details of the "launch" will make this clear. As a test: what fraction of current laptops are Raptor Lake?

you wont be able to buy Arrow lake processors in a PC/Laptop in 2024. They will be in "risk production" but computers will not be available until Q1 2025 at earliest. That is why MTL is needed for desktop and laptop in 2024.
