I'm using Suse 10 for my wifes computer and Fedora Core 5 for my server. Both are good platforms, I like Suse as a desktop with KDE, but prefer FC5 for my server. I tried Ubuntu 5, didn't like it much at all.

My guess would be those via chipset drivers are your problem and/or your raid controler. Just run with an older version of the driver or the default windows drivers and see if that fixes your problem.
