    All Power Cables the same?

So it just came to my attention that when I was hooking up my PC at my new place that I had several power cables. Though all power cables for ATX power supplies and CRT/LCD monitors all look the same, I was dumbfounded when I saw that this cable that came with my new PSU said 125V 10A on it...

    Enermax Tomahawk 500W

I disabled AGP8x and knocked it down to 4x... no crashes as of yet. Possible solution? Reasoning?

    Enermax Tomahawk 500W

Haven't had any issues when just using Windows, only when using Direct-X.

    Enermax Tomahawk 500W

Update: Memtest.86+ detected no errors in my memory. Whenever playing a game, monitor will just lose signal after about 10-20 minutes, and then there's no way to get it back on without restarting the computer. No errors in EventViewer... last time I had this error it was solved by getting a new...

    Enermax Tomahawk 500W

Will try this, thank you. Edit: The PC2700 was a mistake, I thought I was using a different PC. This one is Corsair PC3200 (200MHz) 3-3-3-8

Solid Purple and Black Screens, Issue with PSU?

Thanks for your response! My monitor is infact very old and uses an HDMI > VGA adapter just to connect in the back, however, on a soft-reset the monitor immediately regains its' signal, so I think it rules out monitor issues.... but I think one great thing is that new monitors are NEVER a waste...

Solid Purple and Black Screens, Issue with PSU?

I apologize ahead of time if this is not in the correct forum, but my question is really a double-question... So I recently replaced this crappy Rosewill PSU that would constantly cause purple screens when I played games like COD4, with a Corsair TX 750W. I was told that this was the solution...

Purple Screen in XP after Vista 64-bit Install

Well I went to my local retailer yesterday to pick up a new case, VH6000BWS, because they had a deal for $99 brand new. Well, they were sold out, so I ended up picking up a Cosair 750TX instead for $99.00 after rebates. I haven't had any issues yet, so it looks like the gurus of the thread, as...

    DirectX 10 for XP??

If you choose to dual-boot Vista 64-bit, I recommend using a new HDD for it, and unplug the one with XP before installing it, then selecting which HDD to boot from POST. I made the mistake just using a 'partition' and well, my PC has had endless issues ever since. Let's just say 64-bit and...

Purple Screen in XP after Vista 64-bit Install

Not that it makes much of a difference, but the PSU I swapped it out for is actually a 485W, not 450. I am using an MSI, not BFG, and it meets the 28A minimum on a 12V. The Rosewill does not have a fan control on it, despite it being such a waste of my money. I know that for Intel anything...

Windows XP sticks at Load Screen

I have this exact same issue. Only started happening after I dual-booted Vista. I think it is mostly related to bad sectors/bad partition. Try removing all your partitions and starting from scratch, or RMA your HDD.

    blackscreen after crash, after reboot...

There are two different issues that I've come across that cause the exact same problem, one with Vista one with XP. In XP I noticed black screens to be caused, if by only software fault, either faulty drivers, or the installation of Windows .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0. After I built my PC, I...
