PC3-14900 running @ 667mhz, tried XMP, not sure which timings to use.

OK! So, I pulled the 8gb of RAM out, and set the DRAM to 1.6V, and the NB Voltage to 1.25V and voila! 937mhz in CPU-Z.... Thanks all! I'm going to grab another 16gb of the same RAm this time, hopefully I don't run into anymore problems!

I tried raising the DRAM voltage, but I haven't tried the CPU/NB voltage. The MOBO is a Gigabyte 990FX UD3 Revision 4, Bios F3.

When I enable XMP, even with it set to auto, it won't POST.... just takes me back into BIOS. I haven't tried with just the 16gb, but that'll be my next adventure.

    Upgrading from 270X - 270x Xfire, 280x Xfire, 390.... Help a fella out!

Thanks for the reply. I actually bought another 270x, but a 4gb card. It was only $130. Tripled my VRAM, not the best solution - but the cheapest. And if the game I want to play doesn't support Xfire, at least I've got x2 the VRAM I did before. lol My PSU is a POS. Any recommendations on a...

    Upgrading from 270X - 270x Xfire, 280x Xfire, 390.... Help a fella out!

Ok, so I'm upgrading from a single 270x. I'm also not concerned with running games at the absolute pinnacle of graphics intensity. I want games to run smoothly, and I don't want to have to worry about upgrading for about 2, maybe 3 years. I built my current system on a budget, and I'm very...
