As I have done some more research I have found that having dents there is normal and that the force needed to push it in is normal, but I would in fact like a possible confirmation of this fact from somebody as this is my first build and I'm not too sure about everything. Thanks for the help!

Also as another note the retaining clip wouldn't go underneath the shoulder screw. Is that what I need to see if I can fix?
