    24-pin power connector does not fit in motherboard socket correctly - Bent pins?

    Just tried screwing the sockets around a little with a safety pin and its actually a 20+4 pin connector. The 4 pins will fit in fine but the rest don't. I think its because they are not straight so I will continue to try and straighten them - seems a bit precarious but I don't see another solution.
