News Nvidia's desktop PC chip holdup purportedly tied to Windows delays — ongoing chip revisions and weakening demand also blamed

It's not a GPU. What Nvidia is trying to do here is a laptop CPU (with a huge NPU and graphics, of course, almost a SOC if you will.) to run Windows in a corporate environment. There is absolutely ZERO chance it works without Windows, it would require that organization to completely replace...

News Intel Core Ultra Series 3 CPUs could finally answer AMD's V-Cache — Nova Lake could boast massive 144MB L3

I've wondered about this for some time. The community has largely judged the "best" gaming CPU on benchmarks with a 4090 or 5090 running games at 1080. The FPS in most every game is way off the scale to the point where, even though real games are used, the benchmark is essentially synthetic...

News Nvidia's desktop PC chip holdup purportedly tied to Windows delays — ongoing chip revisions and weakening demand also blamed

This seems a bizarre thing to say. Given it's target market it pretty much has to run on Windows. "(MediaTek and Nvidia are prioritizing enterprise-class systems for the initial rollout)" Why would Linux or MacOS be modified for it? Nvidia could be using a custom Linux to test it I guess, but...

That one is easy. He who controls the AI controls the narrative. Don't believe me, do an Google search, what do you see? 3 billion searches a day and all see that AI summary. How many just look at it and take it at face value? All you have to do is look at Musk's Grok (who is now programmed...

Two Nvidia GPUs fall below MSRP for Prime: Triple-fan RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 cards are the Best Prime Day graphics card deals yet

The listing says 5070 Ti, but it's a 5070. It's not an awful card, but you may confuse some readers.

News Intel details 18A process technology — boosts performance by 25% or lowers power consumption by 36%

Here's all I could find with a quick search. Apparently Intel was using ARM a LONG time ago (early 2000's). Doesn't prove much except that Intel has manufactured ARM chips in the past. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XScale

After 10 years, we're past peak RGB — but don't celebrate yet, stealth PC purists

Did I mention I was old? So don't hate, but I still feel that the introduction of a conductive liquid inside of a box full of expensive electronics is, well, terrifying! 😜

After 10 years, we're past peak RGB — but don't celebrate yet, stealth PC purists

THIS is highly under-rated! I used an older Lian Li case (I believe it's a 1000B) for over 15 years. Literally 5 different computers built in it. I call it the "battlewagon." (It literally has wheels.) It was big, square, black and boring, but, it had: 1. A stunningly opaque side panel...

I configured a 1080p-capable gaming PC for just $400 — here's how you can build your own

This is definitely the grey area. When Microsoft announced they were going to digital licensing, enthusiasts were somewhat alarmed. Because the license would "fingerprint" the PC it was installed on people were wary that Microsoft might demand a new license for Windows if you added more RAM or...

After 10 years, we're past peak RGB — but don't celebrate yet, stealth PC purists

I've owned a PC of one type or another almost literally since there have existed. My first was a Texas Instruments Ti-994A (that last 4 stood for 4 kilobytes of RAM!) I can also see the future. When I first started seeing PC cases with windows in them I just shook my head and thought, "No one...
