Intel 5th Gen CPUs....... are we back in the 90s?

when ever you feel like it. I haven't actually noticed slow downs from fragmentation till well after 50%. but that's actually noticing it. I'm sure that benchmarks could show a consistent slowing that correlates with how fragmented it is.

the 6800k is an apu. it has a CPU and GPU in one chip. if you want a something to go with a dedicated card such as the 280x, your best off with a CPU. for AMD thats the socket AM3+ for the newest stuff. That would be the FX series of processors. as for how it performs. check charts...

the amd system should have an fx 4300 or something like it. maybe a 6100 even.

you can turn off vsync which will remove the cap of 60 fps and it will try to render as many frames as it can.

should work fine, but it will make them run at the same speed. in case one is clocked higher than another.

you can keep your raid 0 and in software have your computer automatically back up everything from your raid to your 3tb. not sure if a product will let it be bootable easily though. I have never tried.

since AMD has all 3 consoles, and pc hardware. Their OpenCL api will get far more attention in the future than physX ever did. Nvidia cards can do OpenCL because its an open standard but AMD will be a little better at it.

you only need the active adapter if you want to use eyefinity. to just use it as another monitor you can just go with passive.

that processor is far from horrid. you could throw in a radeon 7770 and get about triple the performance in games. and it would be cheap. any card more powerful than a 7870 would kinda overkill. you would be held back more by CPU even on games that are easy on it.

MSI's B85 boards are meant for workstations not gaming. try a Z87 board.
