So I am using a Intel i5-3570 cpu at the moment, and my buddy just bought a i7-4790k and is willing to sell me his i7-4770. Here's the catch, he's selling it for $240 flat no shipping costs either. I would be willing to pay that, but do I really have to? All I am doing it editing videos...

If you are running into performance issues, then you might, but if not, there is no reason to unless you just want to spend money. If I had the money I would upgrade the cpu first before anything else to get you to last longer.

That sounds like bad thermal paste to me, try looking at the paste and see if it is either dry or not making a good connection to the heatsink. Also you should check your rad, that might be clogged with dust. Or your fan speed might be too low to cool down the water.

It might be the USB port, have you tried connecting the mouse into a different port?

I have a i5-3570 (non k) with load temperatures of about 55-63 C, I was wondering if water cooling will even change that temperature enough to make a noticable differance? If it does make a difference, then by how much?
