Suggest me auzentech Xi-fi Forte or Prelude

Okay, damned if I know. :D The Forte is Auzentechs newer offering and it has a headphone amp and a microphone preamp. It's also PCI-E. I have no idea why it's cheaper than the older Prelude. The drivers, software and features seem to be the same. I still think I must be missing something, but...

Suggest me auzentech Xi-fi Forte or Prelude

Check out this: (Prelude) http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-fi_prelude.php#featuresoverview Again, just a quick look. Seems there are a lot of software features that the Forte *may not* have. I'm still researching myself. Obviously. :D

Suggest me auzentech Xi-fi Forte or Prelude

 Thanks, I just went over to newegg too and just noticed that. :ouch: I'm a little confused to why the Prelude is more money. There must be more to it than I noticed.

Suggest me auzentech Xi-fi Forte or Prelude

I've been looking at soundcards lately too. Between those two I would say it's the Forte's extra features with the PCI-E that are the main difference so only you can answer which is more important to you. The Forte is more of the audiophiles card with the headphone amp and microphone preamp...

Realtek HD audio, Optical out. Games in 5.1?

Thanks for the reply, gamerk316. I think I found my answer. Any soundcard with Dolby Live will do what I'm looking for. What Dolby Live does is convert PC audio in things like games into a Dolby signal that will pass 5.1 through the optical cable. It does not upscale or matrix it into a faux...

Realtek HD audio, Optical out. Games in 5.1?

Slight correction: Someone over at AVS responded to a post I made. Apparently soundcards with DD live will send 5.1 audio from games through the optical output. it's not simulated. Even better if you have a card that does both DD Live and EAX 5. The question now is does it work with Vista as...

Realtek HD audio, Optical out. Games in 5.1?

For those who would like to know the answer to my question I found a really good thread over at the http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/ forums. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=966518 The conclusion is if you want to get the 5.1 audio from the game to a receiver you will have to use...

Realtek HD audio, Optical out. Games in 5.1?

Hey, all. Recently I hooked up my computer to my HT system so I could stream such things as Netflix and Pandora, and of course do some gaming on the big screen. One thing I was expecting was being able to get 5.1 surround when gaming. I'm not I suspect it's just the Realtek on board audio...

8800GT, nVidia Drivers, Vista 64bit users?

Thanks guys. I thought this thread fell off the edge of the earth. :D I found the issue after a few tweaks and have been running fine for the past couple of months. It wasn't Vista at all. It was my memory (Patriot extreme). I set the voltage to the correct specs but left the timings on...

Samsung 226BW LCD Monitor- "S" Panel Version only??

That was the case and is old news now. All the 226BW's comes with a good panel now. I have one and am very happy with it. The only way to guarantee a S panel is to purchase the 226CW, if you can find one. At a premium, of course.

EVGA 8800GT owners. Are you trading up?

That would be worth the trade up! Any more info on when? I'll have to do some goggle'n, but does a dual gpu have any advantages over SLI? In Other words will a game have to be written to use a dual gpu like SLI? Me too, but the rumor is it wont be out until February which is past my trade up...

EVGA 8800GT owners. Are you trading up?

Just wondering if you guys will be trading up right away. I think I might hold on for a while with the high hopes of something better coming by mid January, when my 90 days run out. What do you guys think? I've never done the trade up program before. A 9800 by January is a long shot. An...

Best 2.5" USB/Firewire/eSata external hard drive solution?

Your fastest solution would probably be USB 2.0 USB 2.0 is rated at 480 MPS Firewire is at 400 MPS eSATA at 3 gigs a second would be best if one of your systems supported it. I recently purchased an external HD that has all three interfaces and my motherboard is eSATA capable, but the HDD...
