    Curious

I'll tke a look at that case. I also just read a review of a new case by NZXT that looks promising. Thanks!

    Curious

will be building a new system later this year and was wondering if these will fit together. I need to use the ASRock Z77 extreme6 mobo because it has a floppy (yes, I have a bunch of stuff on floppys that I need to put on a flash drive plus a have a combo floppy, card readers). I want to use the...

What cooling should zi use for my build?

Air coolers are cheaper than the factory closed loop liquid coolers, but most air coolers cover at least one of your memory slots I guess it comes down to weather ou want or need to use all four slots. If you do, go with the liquid cooler. If not, then go with air.

    New build Bios question

When you buy your motherboarditwill come with a users manual. It should explain your boards BIOS and give you an idea of the settings. Also, if you go on utube there will most likely be a video guide to your BIOS there.

Error 0x80070002 while making a clean install of windows 7 x64

All the checking i have done says this is a regestry conflict. The best thing I can think is to put the HDD in a different computer and totally wipe it and format it. Put it back in your system and see if you can install to a clean (like new) drive.

A boxed intel processor vs. a tray

Not an answer to your question, but another question. Can you buy a CPU from Intel? (direct from the company I mean?)

Error 0x80070002 while making a clean install of windows 7 x64

Try installing with one stick of ram. If that works, the add the second stick back. Not sure why, but sometimes that works. Have used it several times.

    250 GB HDD with D845GERG2

DOA means Dead On Arival (it may be a bad HDD) and RMA means to return it for a working model. I did a search by your mobo chipset # on Yahoo and did find an Intel page that has the mobo manual and other info on it. The first thing I would try is the second ATA port and a new cable and see if...

    250 GB HDD with D845GERG2

I couldn't find anything about the mobo supporting or not supporting larger HDDs. Go into your BIOS and see if the drive is showing up there. If it is, you should be able to format the drive. If you have a friend (or even a not so bad enemy), you might try pluging the HDD into their machine and...

    250 GB HDD with D845GERG2

First, go into computer management and see if the drive is there. If it is, format the drive and you're good to go. If it doesn't show there, check and make sure that one of your HDDs are set up as "master" and the other as "slave", and then check in computer management again.

    SSD Caching?

The SSD that Intel developed specifacly for SSD cache is 20 GB. The cache does not hold your entire windows OS, only what it needs to start up and shut down faster. The same for programs. For example, it will start CS5 faster, but not hold the photos which are on another drive. So, yes, go for it.

    E8400

I have one of my systems curently runing the E8400 on a Gigybite board OC'd to 3.6 on air and it hasen't had a problem for several years. I still use it for some games and for running CS5. Admittedly, using an SSD would help CS5 load faster, but the E8400 has no problem handling it. It is also a...

    Wich mobo for a 6950 and a i5-2500K?

Being a Gigybite board user for may years and many builds, it pains me to say the ASRock is a great board. I have used two of them in builds for friends and have not had the first problem. A good brand 750 watt PSU would do as well as be good for any up-grades you may do in the future.

    Picking an SSD

The size of the drive depends on what you want to do with it. The "Z" boards have the ability to casch part of your big HDD with and SSD. You get a lot faster speed than the HDD, but not as much as using a large SSD. The limiting factor here is that it will only use up to 64 Gig of SSD. If you...
