News Nvidia's new tech reduces VRAM usage by up to 96% in beta demo — RTX Neural Texture Compression looks impressive

Didn't AMD have neural compressed textures before Nvidia even thought of this? They had their own paper about it and everything.

News Intel Arc A380 Overclocks to 3.1 GHz, 55% Faster Than Stock

This really just shows off how inefficient Intel is at making low wattage chips of any of their products now, they want 50-100% more to just be competitive with AMDs weakest chips. They haven't been trying to be efficient, just powerful without boundaries, this already hurt the laptop versions...

News Intel Arc Board Partner Ceasing Production, Report

This really shouldn't be so hard for a very large company to do well, unless there's severe communication issues within which is most likely. Intel has had buggy iGPU drivers for years, only occasionally getting to the point of usable. There is a reason alot of games don't support Intel, they...

News Intel Docs Confirm Raptor Lake Uses Same Microarchitectures as Alder Lake

While Raptor Lake will improve what Alder Lake had, Zen 4 seems to be the one to majorly push forward in AMDs current path to fully rival and even beat Intel quite wholeheartedly. It's kinda funny how AMD was behind quite far pre-Zen, and has progressively created competition for Intel forcing...

News AMD's Ryzen 7 5700 Emerges Without Radeon Vega iGPU

This is definitely better for a business, but it's extremely unfortunate the G series doesn't do PCI 4, including these iGPU disabled chips. Making AMDs lineup of low-end Rx 6400 and 6500 XTs unfortunately more performance limited.

News Valve Halves Steam Deck SSD Bandwidth on Some Models as Production Doubles

This is just bad form on Valve's part, as it severely kneecaps any chance of improving storage performance on the users part.

News ASRock Z790 and H770 Motherboards Will Support Both DDR4 and DDR5

And well AM4 is already a good spot for AMD. They actually beat Intel regularly just in performance alone (at least for gaming, they're definitely realigning with productivity this next gen) while being stuck on a DDR4 platform. AMD doesn't have a good reason to have DDR4 support in the 7000...

News AMD's New DX11 Enhancing Preview Driver Underwhelms in 50 Game Test Suite

It's really a good thing we even get improvements as cards age. 3-10% performance boost in most titles is impressive in a preview driver, especially because it's a wide range of affected DX11 and DX12 games.

News Radeon RX 6950 XT vBIOS Shows 5 GHz Cap, 332W Power Limit

AMD RX 7000 is going to be a proper competition to Nvidia's long standing reign, and much more efficient overall compared to what are going to be factory overclocked, higher cuda cored, even more power hungry versions of the RTX 3xxx series. I am here for it.
