hmm there can be alot of reasons for a boot loop, IMO its mostly been a hardware issue, mostly due to temp. You can try to seperate a hardware / software error, by booting from usb to a linux distro.

thats true, an i5 for any normal beyond edge-case will perfectly work, however for my specific use case i just prefered the time when a intel i7 was actaully attainable to increase general performance in most tasks, gaming / compiling / vm's / many others.

on paper the BENQ seems better purely due to the HDR10 functionality, although i dont think theres really much in the race between them, or any 4k monitor at this price point. So the BENQ is more than fine, if you are certain on 4k i would look to see if there are any older asus pro-art 4k on...

1. i would say chances are that the RAM being the issue not the MOBO. 2.YES 3/4 : CMOS reset doesn't reinstall the ROM BIOS, just resets to default settings, could potentially fix things.
