    I have bought a HP Envy 1524, ordered a samsung 17 lcd flat screen (syncmaster 740B) not knowing there was no way to hook it up, I see post about adapters, will anyone work? Links to HP pages about this are dead...

    New HP Envy just arrived, monitor coming in a few weeks, Envy has Win8. I have a laptop, Toshiba Satellite L655 with Win7. Can I connect these, I have no VGA cables, and use the laptop as a monitor to get things set up?
