I just did a Windows Update and now cannot connect to the Internet. The problem is that I Cannot Renew the IP Address. I ran into this on another machine and turning off Zone Alarm allowed the connection but turning off ZoneAlarm on this machine did not correct the problem. Thanks

It looks like you have installed the correct firmware. There should be some router setting that will allow you to disable ricochet, which should allow activate the WAN port. Check the manual help in the router settings. I can't imagine Linksys would lock you into ricochet given people change...

For the actual assembly use the Manual that comes with the mobo. Every mobo is a bit different, which is why you use the manual. Also a good idea to keep the on line manual up, easy to read, especially the pictures and you will use the pictures

If an earlier version of the firmware is available on the mfg website, might be able to flash the earlier/different version. Did you flash the wrong BIOS? Could try resetting the router to the original settings, should be a button on the back but you'll need the original log in and password...

Either the system you just posted or the previous one will easily last you 3 years. In 3 years or so the Intel Nehalen should shake itself out, be reasonably priced, and there should be a lot of choices. AMD might even come out with something competitive at the higher end by then.
