Review SK hynix Beetle X31 (2TB) review: a solid, snazzy scarab

Nice job, just a correction, it does seem that it has a 400GB Cache but in fact in way smaller. This happened because the SSD is basically an SK Hynix BC711 which is an PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.3 SSD. And because of that, the drive is bottlenecked by the interface, and thats one of the reasons the...

Review Addlink NAS D60 SSD review: Finally a good caching NVMe SSD

Guys it's written in the reviews, it's meant to be a cache drive, with an SLC Cache implementation it wouldn't have such great steady state performance as it is right now. Yes it's not "THE" fastest sustained speeds, buts that's BiCS5 fault. @sjkpublic @rdgordon

News Samsung's fastest consumer SSD has a different endurance rating in other countries — TBW listing could be a typo, though

    The reason could be because they have different NAND Flashs in these 2 revisions. Samsung 990 Pro has 2 variants: Firmware: 0B2QJXD7 - Samsung V-NAND V7 TLC 176-Layers 512Gb D-Die Firmware: 1B2QJXD7 -Samsung V-NAND V7 TLC 176-Layers 512Gb D-Die Firmware: 2B2QJXD7 -Samsung V-NAND V7 TLC...

News Enthusiast mods a 512GB QLC SSD into a 120GB SLC SSD — endurance and performance benefits charted

No, SLC is in fact 2 levels and QLC is 16 leves, but QLC uses 4 bits per cell, since each cell has 4 values. So thats why the capacity is 1/4th instead of 1/8th or 1/16th

News Enthusiast mods a 512GB QLC SSD into a 120GB SLC SSD — endurance and performance benefits charted

well honestly i doubt that, but i'm happy people are watching from other countries, so far i've only done 2 videos in english and both so far are going viral

News Enthusiast mods a 512GB QLC SSD into a 120GB SLC SSD — endurance and performance benefits charted

Kioxia FL6 uses XL-Flash Gen2 which is Native SLC, not a QLC or TLC in pSLC mode, that XL-Flash is native SLC using a 256Gb die in 96-LAyers with 16 Planes. Also, Solidigm has many drives using the Intel N38A 144-Layers QLC 1Tb running in pSLC mode as 256Gb SLC like in the D7-P5810

News Enthusiast mods a 512GB QLC SSD into a 120GB SLC SSD — endurance and performance benefits charted

it was just an estimative. Real world endurance could be lower because of WAF and the pSLC endurance is hardly close to its maxium in these lower endurance dies.

News Buyer beware: Fake Samsung 1080 Pro 4TB SSD promising unbelievable 15.8 GB/s speeds for $43 is too good to be true

You are correct, i bought that drive as a project that i'll show how to "undo" this fake project, since it is in fact a 128GB TLC SSD with 2 512Gb B17A FortisFlash Die (Micron 64-Layers) with a trashy Realtek NVMe controller

News Sabrent releases single-sided Rocket 4 1TB and 2TB SSDs for the first time — DRAM-less and aimed at laptops and consoles

Not necessarely true, since the older but still good Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 1TB was a single sided drive, but yest the 2TB drive was indeed double sided, same as the 4TB and 8TB

News Western Digital claims its new QLC SSD beats its last-gen TLC drive — SN5000S is up to 16.5% faster than SN740

One correction, the SSDs doesn't uses Kioxia 96-layer QLC but instead its newest variants of BiCS6 1Tb QLC dies https://www.techpowerup.com/ssd-specs/#WD%20SN5000S

News SSD overclocking yields big performance gains — overclocked SSD controller and NAND may lead to premature degradation or data loss, though

First of all, thanks for all the comments about the video that i did. I hope you guys enjoyed this fun project. I have another one project, which will be even cooler, that we can dramatically increase the durability/endurance of an SSD.
