I was going to get the 3900x at launch, but the supply was non existent when I went to pull the trigger so I "settled" for the 3700x and have not regretted it. Yes my friend who has the 3900x can render a bit faster than I can, but I don't do video editing full time so I am happy.

I use my #QNAP TS-032X and #RunWithIronWolf so I can store my edited videos. I currently have 11tb of storage, that is filling up and I will have to add more storage soon and this set up would be perfect.

That sounds like a defective SSD. I know that some of the RGB SSD's were having an issue with throttling due to high temps from the lights. 74c would physically burn you if you touched it because that is 165 f. It might be a bad temp sensor on the SSD.

One thing I did not see anyone mention is that the FX processors do not post true temp numbers in things like HW Monitor, but instead you have to use the AMD software and look at how far the CPU is from max temp. I have not messed with an FX processor in years, but I remember you could never...

One other question I would have is do you have any kind of overclock on you cpu. If the cpu is not stable then it can cause that issue as well. A list of your system specs would be helpful.
