News Super Flower’s beastly 2800W power supply lands at $899 — enough juice to power a couple of RTX 5090 GPUs

That's a USA problem, most of the rest of the world has the home infrastructure to power this no problem.

Question 7900 XT artifacting or is something else happening ?

Run a memory scan on GPU.

    Question 9070 XT or 7900 XTX ?

9070XT obviously, simply because it actually has okay RT and it has FSR 4.1, and not "maybe sometime later if we're lucky" for XTX. BUT Not at bloody $1.1k. at that point can buy 5070Ti which is better in every way possible.

News AMD's 9000-series GPUs sell for up to $2,000 as opportunistic scalpers take control

It's a free market, and GPUs are hardly a basic life necessity to mandate doing that. Scalpers are the symptom here, not the actual problem. You aren't going to legislate the actual problem away.

News TSMC and President Trump announce $100 billion investment in the US, including three fabs

More like 16090. Things like this take a decade to even begin paying off.

News TSMC and President Trump announce $100 billion investment in the US, including three fabs

The bottleneck are the chips. PCBs are non-issue at all. They are made in Asia because you have highly educated slave labor there, not because there is some one-of-a-kind manufacturing facility.

News Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT hides its 16-pin connector inside, offers cableless look

It's not exactly great there, they put the connector behind the fins - so it gets hot air blown at it. That said, I don't think for the power this card pulls that connector will be an issue.

News AMD Radeon RX 9070 series prices leak on Micro Center — starting at nearly $700 for XT versions

Remind me what was 5070Ti MSRP? I don't expect this to be any different story. Now maybe there is some crazy stock of MSRP 9070s available, but I just don't see anything different from what was with Nvidia happening - MSRP cards selling out within minutes and the rest will be inflated AF.

Question How do you even build a PC anymore ?

No need to be afraid to say this. Yeah, for people on budget, a good console is a smart move.

News AMD Radeon RX 9070 series prices leak on Micro Center — starting at nearly $700 for XT versions

AMD won't even tickle Nvidia's balls and lets not kid ourselves about it. All AMD can hurt Nvidia for with RDNA4 is a small fraction of ~10% of Nvidia's business. Until they manage to pull off UDNA and if it would actually deliver by matching Nvidia's technology stack, IMO there is no talk...

Add to that AIB partner surcharge, as they are probably going to make the minimum number of MSRP cards they can get away with and you're looking $800+ on average even before supply issues and such. Which is about what I'd expect to be the real price for a while, if not more.

Question Trouble with 3080 after new pads and PTM7950 ?

The problem may be, just like in a first video, that the whole tampering ended up damaging memory or core contacts. You have very similar problem with artifacts, just like in that vid. It is possible while doing replacement you ended up displacing or damaging component connection. Can try to...

Question Trouble with 3080 after new pads and PTM7950 ?

By size, you need to actually have them at proper thickness, the same as were on stock pads for that very specific card model. Examples of such disasters: View: https://youtu.be/wi7MkHv6TKI View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIzgQhRoJS8

News AMD Radeon RX 9070 series prices leak on Micro Center — starting at nearly $700 for XT versions

Nvidia has 80% of market share not because of subjective opinions. They simply have the better product and better tech. Yes, DLSS and good RT performance matter across the board. AMD really has dropped the ball on that side there, just plain old raster does not really cut it anymore, people...
