If I clean the CPU pins with Isopropyl Alcohol, would it work, or still not? Update: I have cleaned the CPU pins, the result is the same, which means that the CPU is indeed faulty.

All RAM is at a frequency of 1600mhz. Also, the adapter has proper wattage as well. I might try again today with the upgrade, but only with one RAM stick and see if it works.

I have dumped the BIOS and I extracted the microcode as well. The laptop is apparently compatible with the CPUID of the i7 3630qm(306A9) mentioned above, but since it doesn’t work, I think the CPU is either broken most likely, or some software prevents the laptop from working with this CPU...

Would a custom BIOS solve this then?

It should be, especially because there are Toshiba L855 laptops with these same CPUs around. Also, the cooling system should face the 45W design. The CPU is different generation, especially because I wanted to give it a new life, with Intel HD 4000, and it is 10nm less than the i5 2450m.

It actually did reset if I think right, but still, even before the BIOS upgrade when I put back the i5, when I upgraded the laptop at first, it still didn’t start up. Also, it doesn’t have a jumper.
